Paralegal Profile: Getting to Know Carol Matus

What is your day-to-day like at Aronberg & Aronberg?

I start my day at Aronberg & Aronberg with a positive attitude and a sincere desire to help those people who have been misguided by the insurance industry. I work closely with our clients making sure they have the best medical treatment available to them. I spend a great deal of time on the telephone with clients, adjusters and medical providers. I also assist the attorneys in the litigation part of the case. Much of my time is spent filing Complaints, answering discovery, scheduling hearings and depositions.

What type of interaction do you have with clients: what does that involve?

Sometimes I interact with the client when they first call our firm to see if we will represent them. I become much more involved with our clients once I start working on their claims. I spend a lot of time reviewing their medical condition and medical treatment with them.  If the claim does not settle after the demand is presented to the insurance company I become even more involved with our clients getting them ready for trial and assisting them through the litigation stage of their case.

How long have you been working at the firm and what you enjoyed most about it?

I joined the firm about 7 months ago. I have  an extensive background in personal injury law and over 20 years experience in the legal field in South Florida. I enjoy working with the staff and find Aronberg & Aronberg to be extremely ethical and trustworthy.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

I love animals, I have three dogs and two cats and spend much of my time taking care of them. I love to read, cook and just be a couch potato.
