Two men hospitalized after crash in Boca Raton

On Tuesday, two people were hospitalized with serious injuries in a car crash that shut down Military Trail in Boca Raton for several hours, police said. Boca Raton Police and Fire Rescue were dispatched at 10:53 a.m. Tuesday for the crash at Military Trail and Verde Trail. A man, driving a black Dodge sedan was heading south on Military. He collided with a man driving a Chevrolet sedan who was heading north and making a left turn onto Verde Trail. It has not been determined yet who was at fault.

The crash caused one car to go over the median and into the opposite lanes of travel. The impact sent a tire of one of the cars into a nearby canal. Both cars were significantly damaged. Apparently, both drivers suffered serious injuries.

A witness was walking down the sidewalk along Military when the crash happened. He said one of the cars was hit, spun and went over the median. 911 was called and the witness stayed as people helped get one of the drivers out of a car.
